Your site isn’t invisible.
It’s unreadable.
Reception is InTheVisual's free check of how confidently search engines and AI assistants can identify your business from your website, scored out of 100 against the KNOWN Framework.
What gets checked
Five layers, weighted by how much each one costs you when it is wrong. Identity and structured data carry the most because when they fail, a machine cannot say who you are at all.
- Entity identity
- Whether name, address, phone, email and web address are one identical string everywhere they appear.
- Structured data
- Machine-readable JSON-LD that states who the business is, what it offers and what its pages answer.
- Content
- Whether pages answer first, link to each other, are current and carry no template filler.
- Open Graph
- The tags that decide what a shared link looks like.
- Technical
- Headings, https, robots, sitemap and metadata present before any script runs.
What the score means
- 0-39Weak receptionFound, but not understood.
- 40-64FairUnderstood on some pages, not others.
- 65-84StrongConsistent identity, most pages fully readable.
- 85-100ClearEvery page says the same thing to every machine.
Questions
- What is InTheVisual Reception?
- Reception is a free tool that scans a website and reports what is holding its performance back. It scores the site against the KNOWN framework - the same sequence InTheVisual Marketing builds to - and returns the findings as a report rather than a single number. It is built and run by InTheVisual Marketing, a web development and marketing agency in San Antonio, Texas.
- Does a Reception scan cost anything?
- No. The scan is free and there is no paid tier. A paid version was considered and dropped, because a report that costs money gets read by fewer of the people it was built for. Running a scan does not commit anyone to buying anything from InTheVisual Marketing.
- How is a Reception scan different from a Clarity engagement?
- A Reception scan is automated and immediate: software checks the site and returns findings scored against the KNOWN framework. Clarity is a paid engagement at $750 in which the diagnosis is written by hand - it works through how the content relates to the terms people actually search, whether anything is published consistently, whether an SEO strategy is running rather than only intended, and whether the site is instrumented at all, then sequences the fixes into a plan. The scan tells you what is wrong. Clarity tells you what to do about it, in what order, and why.
